Sure, the spouse swapping on CBS' Swingtown has created watercooler buzz, but it's the retro fashion that really has us intrigued. So we checked in with costume designer Jill Ohanneson, who is responsible for creating the show's chic '70s looks, to get the inside scoop on the wardrobe department.
To create the most authentic style for the series' summer 1976 setting, Ohanneson, who earned two Emmy nominations for her work on Six Feet Under, began by immersing herself in pop culture from the decade, including movies (Klute, Saturday Night Fever, and Shampoo), magazines (old Vogues and Harpers' Bazaars), catalogs (Sears and Montgomery Ward), and events (the feminist movement).
